I never thought I would see the day where I opted to, “step into the light” so to speak. I’m still a primitive lover, don’t get me wrong but I am finding myself being drawn to a little lighter version. It’s funny because when I would read something like this on someone else’s blog I would think, “NO, don’t go there, don’t fall into that trap!” I guess I feared they were leaving the primitive world behind! I’m still a primitive, rustic Raggedy Ann, no barbie doll here, just going a little on the lighter side. With all that said, we did a little painting here at the homestead. I’ve been looking at some eye candy decorating on Pinterest that I have been drawn to, made a decision on some paint colors and just went for it. I didn’t dislike my dining room color before, I just wanted to go with a fresher, simpler look. So here it is, the before and after.
BEFORE
AFTER
It looks different in different lighting as rooms always do.
Of course when we had to empty the cupboard so we could move it, Jasper had to investigate!
I’ve been slowly trying to make some subtle differences. I guess I will just take it one day at a time and see what my next plan of action will be.

I"ve said the same thing myself. Your "new room" looks great! I Love the before too! A change is always good though. Good for you for just taking the plunge. Hope you are enjoying the summer.

Morning Mindy, I too am drawn to the lighter side, but loves me prims. I just find the light more calming instead of dark and dreary, must be getting older. Love the color you choose, your home is so cozy, always enjoy seeing what you do. That sweet Jasper is so cute, peeking Kitty.Blessings Francine.

Good morning Mindy - such beautiful changes.
ReplyDeleteLight or dark or in between it all goes with Primitives...it's how you decorate around it.
I heard from someone that French Country is making a huge showing and I think it's true because while out shopping a few weeks ago in Lancaster that's all I saw...even in the Prim shops.
Blessings
