I was thrilled beyond words when I found out I had won Jenn’s giveaway over at Rabbit Hill Primitives! Couldn’t wait to tear into the package when it arrived but the paper was so pretty, I just wanted to admire it for awhile!
Isn’t he an adorable table top Santa with a sweet little tree?! I just love him!
I think I am going to have to leave him out and enjoy him for awhile before I put him away! Thank you Jenn!

Here’s a fun and easy idea from Pinterest. Winter snow scenes . This first one I made using a glass cloche. I already had the little trees and the snow. I used cotton for the base as it covers up the battery for the street light, and then sprinkled fake snow on top. The little street light I bought at Walmart from their Christmas village décor. It was so fun to do and the possibilities are endless as to the different scenes you could make.
AND…while at Walmart I found this container that looks like glass but it’s actually plastic for $7.97! Yay! AND… you can leave these “winter” scenes out after Christmas.
Now go forth and let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

Did a little decorating. Again, not knowing how Jasper was going to deal with the tree, I just put some snowflakes on and no swinging ornaments.
Turns out, he just loves to lay under the tree…
and look up at the lights!
Of course I had to have some gingerbread men!
Although he seems to be doing ok with the tree, I did notice “someone” had messed with the stockings!

We had a small gathering at my friend Angi’s house the other night and she showed us how to make a fairy garden. As I was making mine, I was wondering what Jasper was going to think of it.
Well sure enough he had to check it out and didn’t want to leave it alone. I had to hide it during the day while at work and then I would set it out when I got home. The other day he decided to bite off the taller plant so I knew I was going to have to do something.
I remembered I had this glass cylinder so I transplanted the garden into a bowl that would fit inside the cylinder, so far so good!
They are fun to make and there are endless possibilities of how you could make them but I’m thinking if I do any more, they will have to be outside ones.

I had the day off today so I decided I would make my burlap wreath. I had bought the materials several weeks ago and wanted to give it a try. I have to say it was really easy and lots of fun!! I just wired the decorations on so I can easily change it out for the seasons! I’m ready to make another one!

I won Homespun Hannah’s 4th Blogoversary giveaway!
I won Woodsie the Owl bag holder! Isn’t she cute? Enclosed was also this very nice hand towel and a chicken chalkboard, along with a box of chalk.
I was so excited to be the winner and would like to say thank you Danice for the very nice gifts!
I will happily be using them all!

Well it has taken me awhile but I finally managed to get some pictures posted after we got the living room painted.
I love my new clock! It was 50% off! Another reason to love it! The lines in the paneling look funny in the pictures, they look twisted, lol. Also, in the photos the whole wall looks white but it’s not. The top part is painted Revere Pewter by Benjamin Moore and the bottom is painted Classic Gray also Benjamin Moore.
It was kind of hard taking a picture looking into the light of the windows. The mini blinds are the same color but again, in the first window they look darker. Funny how the lighting can totally change the look. You can sort of see how the top part of the wall is darker in this picture.
Have a great day!

Here is a good book I thought I would share with you. Every time I would go into one of my favorite shops, I would see this book. It was the only one there. I would flip through the pages always thinking that it really had a lot of neat ideas in it but then I would set it back down. Finally one day when I was there shopping again, I noticed it was still there so I decided I was going to get it. I knew I had made the right decision because when I took it up to the register one of the gals said, “Where did you get this?” She then proceeded to thumb through it and the other gal standing there said “look at that, how neat!” They just kept going through it and commenting on several things throughout. They then made the comment that they wished they would have looked at it closer for now they decided they wanted it, lol!
Country Living, The Little Book of Big Decorating Ideas.
Here are a couple of pages in the book.
It is full of ideas so if you come across it you might want to thumb through it!
On another note…
I am slowly trying to get my living room back together, not quite there yet. I did pull out a little bit of fall and managed to get this picture of Jasper before he jumped away.

We have been busy working on the living room. If you remember, we got the dining room all painted. Now we have been working on the living room. We finally got it painted, the windows washed and the new curtains up. Just have to get the room back together and then I will share some pictures. It’s been a long process but am so glad it is done!

The other day while I was cleaning out closets and drawers, I came across this chalkboard. I bought it a long time ago, I don’t even remember where. Anyway, I bought it thinking I would revamp it a little bit and just never got around to doing it. As you can see it was scratched up and had some plastic greenery on it that just wasn’t doing anything for me. So, I purchased some chalkboard paint and repainted it, and removed the greenery. I plan on writing different little sayings on it that would be good for me to remember or just something to make me smile.

I never thought I would see the day where I opted to, “step into the light” so to speak. I’m still a primitive lover, don’t get me wrong but I am finding myself being drawn to a little lighter version. It’s funny because when I would read something like this on someone else’s blog I would think, “NO, don’t go there, don’t fall into that trap!” I guess I feared they were leaving the primitive world behind! I’m still a primitive, rustic Raggedy Ann, no barbie doll here, just going a little on the lighter side. With all that said, we did a little painting here at the homestead. I’ve been looking at some eye candy decorating on Pinterest that I have been drawn to, made a decision on some paint colors and just went for it. I didn’t dislike my dining room color before, I just wanted to go with a fresher, simpler look. So here it is, the before and after.
It looks different in different lighting as rooms always do.
I’ve been slowly trying to make some subtle differences. I guess I will just take it one day at a time and see what my next plan of action will be.

Good morning everyone! It will soon be time for school to start and for me to go back to work. Can’t believe the summer is winding down.
I thought I would share with you photos I took of some of the flowers I have blooming around here.
Have a great day!
