Elves At Play

Copy of pcp 11440
Rusty and I had fun the other day!  He cut out  elves and made the ladder and I painted them.  Years ago his mom bought one of these at a craft show and gave it to us when the boys were little. Usually I would prop it up against the Christmas tree to look like the elves were busy decorating. The other day our niece (who has the two little cuties, Grace and Lily) was asking her mom if anyone still had a set, so we got ours out and decided to try and make one for her. Won’t she be surprised?!

I kind of hated to part with it since Rusty and I made it together, but I still have mine to enjoy!  Since we are talking about elves, I thought I would leave you with some silly little elf jokes…
What kind of bread do elves make sandwiches with?
Why, shortbread of course!

Why did Santa's helper see the doctor?
Because he had low "elf" esteem!

What did the elf say was the first step in using a Christmas computer? "First, YULE LOGon"!
What's the first thing elves learn in school? The "elf"-abet!
Why do elves scratch themselves? Because they're the only ones who know where it's itchy!
Why did the elves spell Christmas N-O-E? Because Santa had said, "No L!"
If athletes get athlete's foot, what do elves get? Mistle-toes!
Where do you find elves? Depends where you left them!

Waterless Snow Globe

pcp 11397

I’ve been wanting to make a waterless snow globe for a long time now and I finally got it accomplished.  I had saved this big glass jar a long time ago knowing that someday I would have a use for it. Well that day finally arrived.  I went digging through my craft things and found a little tree and a Santa. I wanted a snowman but didn’t have it on hand. I did have some snow though. I hot glued the tree and Santa to the lid, threw in some snow, way too much snow the first time, I had Santa buried up to his neck. I then put the lid back on and turned it upside down. You could make all kinds of winter scenes!

I was having so much fun I decided to make some more. I love gingerbread men so of course I had to make one with a ginger in it.

Then I went and found me some snowmen. Who knows, I may never stop, it’s so much fun.

Tammy, over at A Primitive Place has made one too. You’ll have to go and check hers out as well!

Save your jars and have some fun!

Christmas Decorating

I think I’m pretty much done with my Christmas decor. I really like to enjoy my things but it gets harder and harder to lug all that stuff out each year.
