Maggie Book Signing

I know, some days you are probably wondering if I’m ever going to stop mentioning Maggie, well…..probably not. What can I say, I enjoy Maggie’s books and patterns. I also love how she is able to pick just the right primitive colors for her projects.

Anyway, a very generous lady, Willie Shafer opened her home and allowed Maggie fans to come and meet Maggie and have her sign her latest book for us. I was fortunate to meet Maggie once before after her first book came out, so now I have two books signed by her. Not bragging or anything.

Maggie had several of her projects there from her new book, “A Day at Sunny Brook.”  Blackberry Primitives were there also with tons of yummy wool and some kits of Maggie’s designs.

I was able to take some pictures to share…

Here is “Flowering Vine Pillow.” The background pieces are actually browns but they look green here. This is one I for sure want to make.

Here is the pincushion and scissor keeper, journal,  the lavender sachet and mending baskets.

If you look on the table above you can see the little pinch purses she made.

I also found out that Maggie’s home will be in this fall issue of Simple Life Magazine! Can’t wait to see it!  I just love what pictures there are of her home in her books!

Redware Eagle

Finished another wool applique piece.  It has been so hot you can’t enjoy being outside so I have been doing some stitching.

I believe this pattern is Redware Eagle from Lyn Hosford.

I’ve been wanting to do some projects out of Maggie’s new book, A day at Sunny Brook, and I also want to do some more punchneedle projects.

I am so sick of this continuous hot weather! Try and stay cool….

Maggie, Grace & Lily

Just finished up Maggie’s “Hooray for Spring.”  I know we are well into summer so I’m not too far behind!

Here are a couple of pictures of my nieces.  Grace is thinking about what to do next and Lily already knows what she has planned!

Yep! Lily’s got Grace right where she wants her!

Have a great day!

Henny Penny

I have wanted to do this Maggie pattern from the first time I saw it. I don’t even care for chickens that much but I just really liked this design.

The pattern was in the December 2011 issue of  American Patchwork & Quilting. Every once in awhile I would get the magazine out and just stare at the picture. Then, the other day I saw that Roberta  over at  Cottonwood Lane Primitives made this very runner.  Hers was so beautiful it once again inspired me to finally make it.

Last night Joan and I went to “Maggie Night” at the Log Cabin. What fun! Twila talked a little about Maggie and gave us some helpful tips and  wonderful refreshments! A few people brought their Maggie projects they had recently finished for show and tell, boy were there some great pieces! One person even had the “Henny Penny” runner!

We then ended the night by getting Maggie’s new book, “A Day at Sunny Brook Farm!”  I must say it’s totally awesome! Her books have the most gorgeous photography!  Honestly, is there a better book than a Maggie book?!

What project to make next?!  Enjoy your day!
