Come On Fall!

Copy of pics 189885

I’ve been thinking about when I want to get my fall things out but it was so darn hot today and then tomorrow it is supposed to be 107 degrees! I just can’t possibly think fall right now. I sure hope it gets a little cooler soon. I am so done with the extreme hot!

Welcome to my Web…

My mom sent me the following this morning…

We have really been invaded by spiders this summer.  Each day when you go into the yard you walk right into a web.  This morning when we opened the patio door, this is what greeted us.  This busy little spider made this web overnight,  This time we wouldn’t have even made it to the yard without running in to a web.  It’s just amazing what they can accomplish in just a few hours.....and so perfect.  I think there’s a lot for science to learned from spiders and their webs....amazing.

I think there is an over abundance of them this year because I have walked into several when I leave the house in the morning. They’re fast workers!

The Sun Porch

Thank you everyone for the nice comments on my front door post. I had some requests to see my front sun porch so here are some pictures I had taken in the past. You can click on images to enlarge.

The door you see in the corner came out of my great grandmother’s house.

I like to sit out there in the spring and the fall as there is no heat or air out there, so come on over when it gets cooler!

Today’s Project

Well it’s kind of hard to see the basket on the door, you will have to click on the images and enlarge them. Anyway, I’ve been wanting to hang a basket on my door instead of a wreath. Just was getting tired of a wreath and wanted something different.

This was my big project for the day. Oh and let’s not forget I swept off the steps and got rid of the never ending cobwebs!

Display Ideas

pics 189802

First of all I would like to thank you for the sweet comments on my nieces, Grace and Lily.  They are quite the cuties!

Now, I have a question for all you wool penny rug makers out there. How do you display your bigger pieces? The runners are easy, you just put them on a table but sometimes It’s hard for me to decide where to put the bigger ones. I would love to hear how you have displayed some of your pieces!  Maybe you could even post pictures on your blog!  Looking forward to hearing from you! Have a nice evening!

Please read…

The flood of 2011 has been a hardship for many area families. Even if our homes are not directly in water, it has effected businesses and roadways. Some people have lost their jobs or have had to relocate and pay rent a long with their regular house payments just so they are able to keep their job. Unfortunately little if any help is forthcoming.
The following is an article written by our pastor.

It appears from my perspective that we’re the forgotten disaster of the summer of 2011. Rural America small towns and cities face a variety of challenges each and every year but compounded for Percival, Hamburg, Watson and many others is the water of the Missouri River which seems to be a perpetual sight that is not going away any time soon. In fact if the “so called experts” are correct it could be six months to two years before some people are able to inspect their homes.

For the communities along the Missouri River basin and the corn and soybeans once growing in the fields on the bottom; it’s probably a “blip” on the markets, so who cares? Well I for one do, having lived in Hamburg for 15 years and now pasturing the Percival Community Church for the past 2 and one half years Yes, I have developed a fondness for the area and its people. They are hard working, honest, caring good hearted with a love for family, friends and the land God created.

It’s worth saving, but where are the movie stars, activists’ and others who have given time and resources to some of the neediest places of the world, but are silent to the cries and hurts of people in rural America?

My faith tells me, God hears their pain, frustration and day to day struggles to remain positive and to believe that tomorrow will be better and brighter.

Please don’t forget us: pray for us, encourage us, remember us, we’re America too and people of faith, trusting that God’s love, grace and mercy is sufficient.

Pastor Blaine

Our church came up with this idea for a money raiser for area flood victims. Please click on the letter below to enlarge. If you feel you would like to donate $1.00 to this cause, there will be so many appreciative people!  Please share this information as you see fit. Thank you so much!

Above all else, remember us in prayer…. Thank you.

One of the reasons I like it so much is because it is so private. You feel like you are in your own secluded sanctuary!
