My Big Idea….

Ok I have this idea in my head that’s probably too big for me to make it come to pass but I’m going to give it a try. I have had this house for quite some time. It was made with a back on it. This is an old picture of it. I have since painted it different. I have always wanted a flat log cabin doll house to decorate. I think it would be so much fun. I never can find any though, at least the kind I want. People always make bird houses or just a house to sit, not one you can decorate the inside. So one day I got to thinking, why can’t I take the back off of this house and try and make it into something I can decorate. I asked Rusty if he would take the back off of it and he did. He also cut out the windows.

This is what it looked like after I repainted it awhile back but I want to try and do something else to it so it looks like it has real logs and chinking on it.

Here is the back side. I want to put logs in the inside too. I want to put flat logs not round logs on it. I also want to put a wood plank floor in it. I hope I can make my idea a reality!  I will keep you up to date on my progress and when I get all done I will invite you over and we can go inside and have a cup of coffee!

If you have any decorating ideas for me please let me know!

  1. Love it! Great idea! My father was a hobby miniaturist, but hasn't done anything in quite some time. I have so many happy memories of our family dollhouse projects... I keep thinking that I should blog about it sometime... Can't wait to see what you do next!
    Blessings, Patti

  2. That is an awesome project! You can do so many cool things! I can't wait to see ALL the updates!

  3. I just want you to know that I'm moving in to your house. This is the perfect log cabin that I've always wanted, flat not rounded logs. Now, just give me a year or two to reduce my size! LOL. Can't wait to see your progress. ~Ann

  4. Mindy,
What a great doll house. I have a beautiful old colonial my MIL built for my daughter 30 yrs ago. It even has electricity. You are inspiring me to dig it out. It is in the attic of my garage. I can't wait to see what you do with yours.

  5. Hey Mindy...what a cute idea. I am sitting here looking at Trey's Lincoln Logs thinking that they would be so cute to use in your house. LOL
Can't wait to see what you do.

  6. That's cute Mindy. Nice Redo!
