Well, if you know me at all, you know I lack in the patience department. All I could think about was decorating my little house. It doesn’t matter if the structure part is done or the outside finishing touches, I just can’t wait to get in there and start decorating. First thing I did was lay my wood flooring. This was not as easy as I thought it would be. I first used wood glue and my planks kept popping up so then I switched to hot glue and that worked so much better other than the flippin burns you get on your fingers! I of course was in a hurry and so I went ahead and painted my logs and chinking. Didn’t know what I would have used anyway. I was a little leery after the floor bit. I had this little pie safe that I painted and grunged up. I cut some pieces off a old quilt for my curtains and hung a little quilt on my pie safe door. This area will be my kitchen. I have to get a little table yet and of course my appliances. Don’t know if I will try and make them or not.
This side of the room will be my little cozy living space. I immediately had to get a Maggie inspired quilt (which I made promptly) upon my wall. I also made a little wool runner for my bench. Right now I have some dried flowers hanging but I plan on building a fireplace to go on this wall. I have to check with my contractor first! Now remember my window framing and other finishing touches aren’t done yet!
I still have to work on the outside of my house and of course finish the inside but like I said, I just had to do a little instant decorating. I couldn’t stand it any longer.
Now don’t forget, I’ll be inviting you over when it’s all done. I better go get me a front door made before someone tries to break in and steal my quilt!
Rusty and the boys just shake their heads and leave me alone, they know I am in my own little world, and having the best time too!
