Now I wish all my Christmas decorations would just melt away until next year so I wouldn’t have to put them all away! It’s fun putting them out but putting them away……….NOT SO MUCH!

It’s Been Awhile…
Sorry I haven’t posted for awhile. It has just been so busy around here lately. I meet myself coming and going! I dug up some pictures I shared with you last year. I just love this cute little gingerbread house made by a gal at our church.
and here is a table centerpiece I did last year with the wool runner I made. I was wanting to make something this year for Christmas but I just ran out of time.

Remember?
Every now and then I want to bring out the best in my cutting boards and I always forget the mixture to use. I’ve reposted this before but if you’re like me you never remember either. So here we go again:
Now maybe some of you already know this but I was reading somewhere and I can’t remember where, that if you have cutting boards, an old dresser or anything wood that you were thinking about stripping, that you could bring out the best in the wood by using 3 parts oil to one part vinegar. Either white or apple cider vinegar and olive or vegetable oil. Just mix it up and rub it on with a clean cloth and the wood just soaks it up. See the difference in the first 2 pictures? I used it on a couple of cutting boards.
Turned out pretty nice I thought!

Naughty….or…Nice?
Well Comet stopped by this weekend and brought me Santa’s Naughty and Nice book. He said he’d leave it with me for a bit so if anyone wants me to look up their name, I’ll gladly let you know which list you are currently on so you can either continue on as you’ve been or get your act together!!

Tree up
Well, got my living room tree up. I went really plain this year. Just white lights and red balls. Here are pictures taken at night.

It’s Hung…
Ok, I finally got my quilt hung. I hung it up in my living room and I used a curtain rod and rings with clips on them. I decided to put it in my living room because it is the very first and probably the last quilt I will ever make so anyone that enters my living room will have no choice but to look at it! Yes, I am making everyone look at it whether they like it or not, and if they don’t notice it, I am quick to point it out, lol! It’s like my very own deer head I guess, only this is soooo much better!
The wooden box I bought at Paula’s is sitting on the bench with pumpkins in it. It’s such a neat box! I haven’t started my turkey penny rug yet, so don’t know if it will even get done before Thanksgiving!
Enjoy your Sunday!

Red Door Primitives
Thursday I went to Paula’s Red Door Primitives Open House. She had a lot of primitive goodies ready for the pickin!. I have to look and then look again for there is always something I didn’t see the first time around and of course there is always that “missed item” that you notice someone else found first! :-) Paula was kind enough to share some photos of her open house…
I bought this neat little wooden box, just loved it!
I thought this bear was sooooo cute!
Thanks Paula for a great Holiday Open House! I always love to come shopping!!

Decorating Woes & Turkey Talk
You know, I set around and look at primitive pictures and books up the ying yang and I certainly know what I like when I see it. So why is it so hard to achieve that look in your own home? For one thing my ceilings bug me. Some are popcorn and some are old 5o style ceiling tiles and of course I don’t have those wonderful flat log and chinking walls! I wish there were more primitive style interior decorators around!
Maybe I just don’t have enough primitive pieces, I don’t know! Any of you ever feel this way? Any suggestions?
I’m finally taking down my Halloween decorations today. Need to go get my turkey out. I will be making a Thanksgiving pattern that I just ordered for myself from The Old Tattered Flag. I just love it! Here’s a sneak peek!
Have a great day!

Two years later…..
Finally after 2 years I have the backing sewn on my Maggie quilt! Oh my gosh, I didn’t think I would ever get it done! There are so many other projects I have wanted to start on but I have been true to my word that I would not begin ANYTHING new until I got this quilt finished! There is one minor little detail yet, I have got to figure out how I am going to hang it. Anyone have a favorite way of doing that? Hope it doesn’t take me another 2 years to get that done!!

Where Art Thou?
For days now I have been looking all around for my reading glasses. I even had my husband searching for them. We never did find them and I just figured I’d never see them again. Today, I’m sitting on the couch and I happen to look over at the pumpkin on the fireplace and I see my glasses in the wooden bowl on top of the acorns. Now, tell me, what is up with that?! I certainly have no memory as to why they would be there of all places! I surely didn’t think that they looked fallish alongside the acorns? But then again, we’re talking about me here. Maybe I have come up with a new decorating fad, you think?! Please feel free to steal my idea!! lol
