Saturday

Today was our usual grocery shopping, money dropping day.   Do you eat or make a car payment, that is the question.

Of course we had to get out in the snow. I wasn’t excited to see that this morning.

If anyone wishes to email me with a question, just click on the envelope I have posted there on the side. I’ve inserted a few more random photos.

Flowers

I had someIMG_0932one ask about my button flowers so I decided I would make some to sell. You would get a dozen flowers for $12.00 so if you are interested let me know. You can put them in a vase, a mason jar, a basket or anything you want. Add some greenery or baby’s breath or any kind of filler, or just have them by themselves.

Thursday

Yesterday was such a nice day. When I got home from work, my sister-in-law Julie came down with her grandson Brady and we went for a walk. I took a couple of pictures of Brady in his stroller. He’s a cutie pie. He kept looking for the kitty. Then last night I watched American Idol.  Today I had parent teacher conferences when I got home from work. Can you believe we will soon be into March?

Wednesday

Yesterday when I got home I had to run our taxes over to Nebraska City, then when I got back we had to go to the National Honor Society program. Douglas and his friend Colin were the only boys inducted this year.  I tell the boys that I was in the National Honor Society when I was in school, but they seem to find that hard to believe! Then when we got home from that I had to make a moon cake for youth group. So you get to see a picture of my lovely moon cake.

Make Sure You Know

Here's a bit of information for you and maybe you already are well aware of such a thing but since I am not accustomed to using any kind of debit card, I did not know this. Jacob got a Walmart debit card for Christmas. Well to start things off in order to activate your card you have to give Walmart all your personal information including your social security number, clear down to what you had for supper the night before!! Even though mind you, this is a gift to you and it is already paid for. You also have to have the receipt for the card. Well we told them this was a gift and we don't have a receipt. So then we have to fill out more papers. So we finally got the card activated and it was for $25.00. Soon we receive an email from Walmart and we now have a balance of $22.00. They charge you a $3.00 service charge every month, So if you don't run out and immediately purchase something, your money just slowly disappears. So if you get a Walmart debit card for a gift and you think you are going to save it until the right thing comes along, you better think again because you might just pull it out to use it and it's all gone because it went to service fees. Like I said, maybe you all know this and are thinking, well yeah you dummy! But we're from the old country and we don't use debit cards therefore we were in the dark! It just makes me feel bad for the person that bought the card cause $3.00 of their hard earned money went down the drain. Stupid Walmart !

Sunday

Well yesterday Rusty and I went to Shenandoah and got groceries. I went in to Walmart to buy a few things that cost less there although I’m beginning to think there is no place that is cheaper. Everything is costing so much it is ridiculous! Today we went to church and Rusty put a roast in the crock pot so that worked out well for dinner. I just finished a book called, “The Shack.” I have heard much talk about the book so I decided to read it. It was very interesting. It made you stop and think about things in a different way. A different view of looking at things. It is kind of sad so it’s hard for me to say, oh yes it is a super great book, but it is sad for a reason. I guess you just have to read it to understand. If anybody does read it, let me know what you think.

Friday

When I got home yesterday I decided to work on a stitchery. I finished stitching it last night and then when I got home today I coffee stained it and framed it. It is done a little darker than what I wanted but when I got it wet, I had used a pen to write the letters and the ink ran. I should have known better than to do that!! So I had to put some dark areas where you could see the ink, but it
turned out ok none the less.

Wednesday

Not much going on right now. Just the same old, same old! I've been cold ever since I got home. My hands feel like ice!!
Here is a couple of pictures of my buddies! I let DJ come in since it was cold outside. She has been napping ever since. Reese is reclining in the chair looking out the window now and then!

Monday

Well I got to stay home today. FM didn't have school. Mom and I ran over to Nebraska City and I finally found me a pair of tennis shoes. I got them at Browns, but they had more to choose from than the Browns in Shenandoah and before I even tried any on I asked him if he had anything at or below the amount I was willing to pay. He said, "Oh yeah, I have several" and I'm thinking, "for real?" Evidently he was telling the truth cause he brought me different ones to try on and I found a pair I liked so I went for it. I usually have a hard time finding shoes that fit me, so to find good ones at a good price is extra special!
Anyway, I guess spring starts sometime in March and mom said she liked the flowers I made one year out of buttons so I decided to drag them out and show ya. They were fun and easy to make! Now if we could just get rid of all the snow and have it look more like spring!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!! I put a couple of pictures up but you can't see my necklace very good. Rusty got me a black hills gold necklace that has a little angel on it. The angel is so little I couldn't get a very good picture of it. I got him the little monkey. I'm always telling him, "love you like a monkey!" Don't ask me why that phrase, I've always just told him and the boys, love you like a monkey. You know, we all have our little quirks! Anyway hope you have a niceday, especially now that it isn't snowing anymore!

Friday

Well we certainly got some snow! I had to pry my hands off the steering wheel when I got home from work. I don't like driving in it!
Below is a picture of my neat Valentine mug with candy in it that my boss Carla gave each of us. Might I add that she is the bestest boss ever!!
Do you have your Valentines bought? You still have tomorrow that you can make that special purchase! I remember when I was growing up at home I would always get a big heart shaped box of candy and one year we got a really big Valentine decorated cookie!

Thursday

I was really tired today when I got home from work. I actually took a nap. Then when I got up the first thing everyone said to me was, "nice hair!" Apparently my hair got a little messed up! Oh well, as long as it made someone laugh I guess!
I took a picture of a journal I made a while back. I got the pattern at the Log Cabin that I love to go to! It is made with wools. I just stitched the pattern on the front and then you glue it on to the notebook. It was fun to make. I have also made some using scrapbook papers and ribbons. I've made little ones and then I've made bigger ones too. They make cute gifts!

Tuesday

Well has everyone recovered from finding out our true identities? That was so much fun making those pictures. You should go to the website and try it yourself. They have alot of pictures to choose from.
I've found out the Kashi bars I liked to eat have been recalled. Of course this is after the fact that I already ate some, so I'm hoping I'm not going to kick the bucket anytime soon!
Today sure was nice out, how long is it going to last?
Everyday when I come home from work I keep thinking I'm going to start another craft project but haven't so far. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do.

Coming Clean

Ok, I decided to come clean about my family. We all have carried this secret about our lives and I decided it was about time I let you all in on it. First of all, Rusty was the real actor in the Austin Powers movies. Derek has made millions, I am on the cover of Elle magazine, Jacob has an alternate personality which is Chuckie and Doug has been seeing Angelina Jolie on the side! Well now that you know the truth about us, I hope we can all still remain close! Truly, we are just your regular down to earth family!

New shoes............NOT!

Well Rusty and I headed over to Shenandoah today to get some groceries. Since it was so nice out we made a few other stops. I needed some new tennis shoes to wear to work because the sole is coming apart on mine. So we go into Browns and they are having a big shoe sale, so the window says! Alright, I hit it just right! I go in and look around and they only have one shoe in my size. I wasn't too crazy about the look of it but I tried it on to see how it felt. Well, it felt ok and the longer I had it on the better it felt so I asked how much it was. $116.00 but they were on sale for $86.00. Now, if they had been some kind of shoe that was going to transform me into a new person, I might have considered it but since that wasn't going to happen I chose to pass. I thought I will just put some glue in my shoe until I can go somewhere else and get them a little cheaper. Surely that place exists!!! So I decided to head next door to the Emporium. Their window says they are having a clearance sale, maybe I will have better luck there. I liked to look around in there anyway.
BINGO, I found a good sale! I found me a hooked rug 1/2 price!! These are anywhere from $50 on up. I got this one for $25. I was very pleased with my purchase! Here is a picture of my new rug.

Beautiful Out

It is so nice out today! I just got home from work and I put in a load of laundry, changed bed sheets and did some other things that needed to be done. I spotted my camera over by the computer so I decided to take some more random photos. You never know what you're going to see. Some of you probably think, well why did she take a picture of that? Or better yet, you might be asking yourself, why does she even have that!? For instance my picture of the little brooms. Well, that's another primitive thing! I just love the simpleness of the brooms together and before you call me wacko, I'll have you know I have seen the same thing in a lot of pictures of primitive homes. You know that's where I get a lot of my inspiration! I'm just a raggedy ann in a barbie doll world! The picture of the little taper candle is in a old door knob that came off the old farm house of my great grandparents. I was at a antique shop one day and I saw they had taken old door knobs and put candles in them, so I remembered the old door knobs that I had and I put a little candle in it! Simple, with a sentimental value!

It's Cold

It sure was cold outside today! I would like it a little warmer! Not much happening today. I had to make a moon cake for youth group. I use to not be able to make them but I guess I have improved over time! It was a good thing I had to take it somewhere though cause it looked pretty good!
