Well today I am going to start a Gratitude Journal. I have been doing some reading about people who have been keeping one and they say it has really helped them make a difference in their lives. We take so many things for granted that we sometimes don’t even notice or appreciate the small things. When you write down 5 things daily to be grateful for you will begin appreciating your life to it’s full extent. Looking and seeing the good in every situation creates a shift in thinking to the positive. You begin to focus on what you have rather than what you don’t. Even on bad days you are suppose to find things to be grateful for. I don’t know about you but I think I could benefit from this journal. I tend to every once in awhile think, “why can’t I do that or why can’t I have that?” I don’t want to be like that. I want to learn to be content and really notice and appreciate everything I do have and that comes into my life. After a few weeks I will let you know how I am doing with my journaling. I plan on writing down my 5 things each night before I go to bed. Why don’t you think about starting one?
On another note, I got word from Doug today who is in Washington D.C. and he said he is having a lot of fun. The weather has been real nice. So far he has been to a Baltimore Orioles vs. Detroit Tigers game, attended the National Cathedral, took a boat cruise, and went to Mount Vernon. There is alot more to see and do yet as he won’t be home until Saturday. He said he has already used one camera. I sent him with those throw away cameras. I wish I was there! Sounds like they are having fun! They as in the 4-H kids!
