Saturday outing

Today my friend Joan and I went to Roca to Sweet Annie’s Ninth semi-annual antique show and sale. It’s always fun to go and check things out. I saw some beautiful pieces that I would love to have but they are just a little bit out of my price range at this point in time. Sweet Annie’s Bed and Breakfast is in Roca, Nebraska. Here is a picture of Sweet Annie’s. This is the back side.

Then from there we went to Lincoln to Aunt Patty’s Attic. Here are a few pictures I found here on their website.

Here is a picture of a hooked rug I think is pretty

Ok, now for my purchases. I got this basket to hang on my patio door. I’ve been wanting a basket to hang here.

I love yellowware! I got 4 of these coffee mugs.

At Sweet Annie’s I got this flour sack table runner.

We browsed a few other places too. It was a pretty good day and we had a lot of fun!

P.S. For those who don’t know, if you put your mouse over the  word (here or website) that are in red, it will link you to that site. So for future reference, take note when I use a different color on a word.! :-)

We have to do a lot of packing today cause Doug leaves tomorrow on his 4-H trip to Washington. I know they will all have a good time but I will be worried until he makes it safely back home.

I wish I was able to say, look at these pictures I took of my home  cause I would love to live in this place, but I just found them here on a neat blog I check out now and then. Enjoy!

Memory Lane

[This brings back memories! We used to live out in Golden Acres and my Dad was the mailman. The boys would run out to greet him when he brought the mail. My gosh, where does the time go? Enjoy every moment folks cause the next thing you know you have been fast forwarded to the future! In the scheme of life it will be moments like these that will be forever embedded in our hearts! Although the time has passed, this image captured a sweet moment of four lives. You can never rewind the clock so appreciate each and every moment! ( note to self: Did you hear that Mindy, put that in your memory bank and retrieve it every now and then!!)

More Flowers!

I have more eye candy for you. My Aunt Patricia sent me a couple of pictures of her flowers and they are so pretty I had to share them. I then went outside and took some pictures of the few flowers I planted the other day.

Aren’t those beautiful?!

These are the flowers that I planted to grow on my arbor. I can’t remember the name of them but they are suppose to resemble black eyed susans.

These are of the morning glories I bought.

This is  a purple clematis. It isn’t doing as well as last year.

This is just a random shot. My flowers here aren’t blooming yet.

Tuesday the 26th

Well since FM is out for  the summer I am having to adjust to staying home and not going to work everyday. It always takes me awhile to get into a routine of some kind and by the time school is ready to start again then I’ll be so adjusted to staying home that I’ll have to start all over with the routine of getting back to work! Right now I’m thinking, I’m bored, I want to do something but when I think of something to do then I think, no I don’t want to do that! I do have things scheduled in my head that I want to do before I go back to work so I just have to wait until the mood strikes me! Meanwhile here are some pictures from “my favorites” file. I just like to save pictures that I like for future inspiration! These are of front porches.

This last picture is of Twila Fairbanks home in Roca, Nebraska. Her and her husband have a bed and breakfast in the cabin  to the right. I would love to stay there sometime! Twila has had a primitive shop in the basement of her home that I have so loved going to but now she is going to be closing it. I have learned a lot from Twila and will miss seeing and visiting with her. I always referred to her cabin as my home away from home!! I just love her flat log cabin home! It is so beautiful inside and out! She has truly been inspiring to me! I’m sure I haven’t seen the last of her though! You know, where there’s a will there’s a way!LOL!

Here are a couple of pictures to look at. The first one is taken at Mom’s. I think it is pretty with her hostas. The second one I took up at the cemetery of the view.

Here are a couple of pictures of my aunt Patricia’s deck. I think it is so pretty. You just want to jump into the picture and go relax awhile!

I can’t believe I haven’t posted anything since Tuesday. Time once again has got away from me. I have been doing some walking in the evenings but for some reason ever since I have walked I feel like a big fat cow. I thought it is supposed to make you feel better, when does that kick in? Heaven forbid I over exert myself!!

My silver lace vine that went over my arbor died off so today I bought a flowering vine that looks like black eyed susans. I hope it will grow because it is pretty! I will show you some pictures once I get it planted!

Isn’t this picture pretty? It was in my favorites!

Well it’s all behind us now. The day went pretty fast but towards evening I was getting pretty tired. I did good, I didn’t cry. I think I was too busy and occupied to cry. I took some pictures of outside when we got things ready.oldpictures 053
