Yesterday I attended a baby shower for Robin. She received a lot of nice gifts or should I say the baby received a lot of nice gifts! The ultrasound informed them that they will be having a girl so if by chance there is a mistake, I hope the baby boy will like pink!! She is doing her nursery in frogs and dragon flies. I got her a couple of outfits and then I had made this flower bouquet using some baby socks. I had seen it done somewhere and thought it would be fun to try and make.

Here is another project I saw on a site. I thought it was really neat, kind of a primitive thing making an Easter basket out of basic materials.

Oh No Snow!

Did not want to see the snow today, yuck yuck!! What are you going to do? We went to Shenandoah to get some groceries and we had to order Doug’s tux for prom. Jake already ordered his the other day. Before we went home I thought I would stop in Earl Mays and see if they had any wheatgrass because as I said in a earlier post I wanted to put some in a pot for a centerpiece. So here I trot into Mays looking forward to the neat little plan I got going on in my head. The gal says can I help you and I’m like yeah, I would like some wheatgrass so she takes me over to where some seed packets are and shows me this big tall stuff that you put outside. I said no that’s not it, do you have something you could look it up in? (I myself, was thinking of a computer) She says well, no but I’ll ask someone. So she goes and asks this man that looks to be the manager and he says, hmmmmm…..I don’t think we do,  wow, I just don’t know anything about it. That’s a question I am just stumped on.

Ok, well I was just wondering. Thanks anyway. Another dream melted before my eyes. I’ll just go home and get on my computer and look it up myself which I did and wheatgrass does exist! You see it all the time in decorating magazines.  Well, I will succeed in my centerpiece plan and you all will be the first to witness it when I do!  Meanwhile, I saw the following done on a website and thought it was a cute idea so I played around with it this afternoon. Amazingly, I found what I needed for it at Walmart.

You just buy a bottle of soap, take off the label and then decorate it with stickers, rub ons or whatever. That would make a cute gift! Of course my boys would say, “Yeah mom, like people are going to want soap for a present!”  Well, I like all that kind of cute girly stuff so don’t ever be afraid to buy me any!!!

The Gaudy Potty

Well, I just finished doing the supper dishes and I looked out my window and saw it, the gaudy potty. There was a note attached to my door that read, IT’S  AFTER PROM TIME, IT’S TIME FOR A PARTY. WE NEED TO MAKE MONEY SO WE’RE PASSING “THE POTTY.”  FOR A $10.00 DONATION WE’LL MOVE IT ON…JUST GIVE US A CALL AND  WE’LL COME GET THE “JOHN.”  YOU PICK THE NEXT ONE TO RECEIVE THE YARD TROPHY. IT MUST KEEP MOVING SO DON’T BE POKEY. THANK YOU! THE AFTER PROM COMMITTEE

So I guess I better go see about moving that there potty to some unsuspecting soul!

Patience, I have none

Well I spent a lot of time on the computer today when I got home trying to make some changes on Jake’s FASFA papers. They tell you oh yes you just go right back to the site, enter your necessary info to access your personal FASFA to edit the changes you would like to make. YOU BET BABY! I tried it 4 times, called the customer service number a billon times and they finally say to me, it must be your browser is not compatible with our site. Yeah, whatever!!!! I’ll wait and try it again on Derek’s computer this weekend and if it doesn’t work then, I’m going to cry myself a river! Why can’t things just go smoothly? Where is it written that you have to experience extreme stress with every little thing that is supposed to be EASY? And just as I was typing that last sentence, a window box popped up (about my virus protector) and went right smack over my words and I couldn’t see what I was doing!! See what I mean!! OK, time out, I must take a deep breath in and sing, “There is sunshine in my soul today!” That ought to hold me until the next thing comes along!!! LOL

On a different note, here is a picture I saw that I thought was pretty. They were talking about planting some wheatgrass in pots. I think I might give that a try, it would make a pretty spring decoration, although I’ll probably buy the packet that has crabgrass in it by mistake!!

Ya gotta love it, it’s Monday! Back to work day. Oh well, somebody’s got to do it! I have a bunch of things I need to start doing but here I set at the computer. I’ll get right to it as soon as I’m finished here.

Here is a picture of a little chick penny rug I made last year. I think it is so cute. The other picture is the penny rug I am wanting to do right now. I have some of my pieces cut out. It is a Maggie Bonanomi pattern. She has a lot of neat primitive patterns. Also I have included a spring stitchery pattern I made a couple of years ago.

Today was grocery day again. That’s always fun! (not really) We made a few stops, got groceries and headed home. Now I am getting ready to work on a penny rug. I finally decided on one I want to make.  I’ll show you a picture of it later. Here is a picture of Reese. Yesterday when I was moving things around I looked over and Reese was sitting in the chair with the Easter bunny. I had to take a picture I thought it was so cute. I can’t believe he left it alone, usually he likes to rip apart stuffed things. Although this being a primitive looking bunny he might have been scared of it, you think?:-)

It’s officially Spring!

Well I didn’t have to work today so I stayed home and just did things around here.  I decided to make some changes around the house as I just get tired of the same old same old. Here are some pictures of some of the changes. I’ll have more later.

Things are started to creep up now that it is close to the end of the school year. We had the dinner theater the other night. It was really nice and the food was excellent. We have had a couple of meetings about the after prom party and we will be having a couple of fund raisers coming up so my list keeps getting longer!

I went to a primitive show at my friend Paula’s and she had a lot of cute things. I included some pictures for you of some of my purchases. Makes you think Spring!!

Our Saturday

Well Rusty and I were excited to get away. We hadn’t gone anywhere together, except to get groceries, in a long time. On the way up we decided on all the stops we wanted to make. I wanted to go to JC Penney’s cause I haven’t been there forever. Then we went to Walmart, Hobby Lobby(I went there while Rusty went to Sam’s) Kohl’s, Menards, oh and the mall. Then we decided we wanted to eat lunch at Applebee’s but they were swamped and people were waiting outside to go in so we went to The Golden Corral. I don’t know why we went there because I reminded Rusty every time he eats at a buffet he doesn’t fair to well afterwards. Well, the first thing we see when we get our plate and go up to the bar is a hair in the pea salad so that started things off good! We decided we don’t care much for buffets. I don’t think they are very sanitary. You have people using the same utensils to get there food, plus you see people eating on line. We just decided it’s not for us and you guessed it, later on Rusty didn’t  feel so good.

I did try on some clothes while we were shopping. All I ended up with was a pair of pants and a sweater. I hate trying on clothes. It is so depressing for me. One thing I do know is that I have got to get over chocolate, but it’s so hard as you can see by this picture!!!!!!!!!!!!

This morning I got up and checked my email and my blog and I was super excited, I have another follower! Thanks Ciara!

Rusty and I are thinking about going somewhere tomorrow since we didn’t do anything for our anniversary.  We haven’t decided what yet but I’m sure we will come up with something.  Just to get away for the day would be nice. I am looking forward to next week. The weather is supposed to be a lot nicer! Spring is supposed to officially be here next Friday!

Twenty Years and counting!

Rusty and I have been married 20 years today. It doesn’t seem like twenty years. Time has gone by fast. He surprised me with a necklace that says, faith, hope and love on it. It is very pretty.

I am including a couple of stitcheries that were made for us. The first one was made by my sister-in-law Dana when we were married. The other one was made by Rusty’s sister Debbie several years ago.IMG_0991 IMG_0992

Music Carnival 2009

Well we just made it home from the Music Carnival. Rusty ran the basketball shoot and I did the Poster ring toss. I also had to make a cake for the cake walk. Usually it is so hot in the gym but this year it was much better than usual. Then after the games were over they had the cake auction and then after that they had the coronation. Doug was a sophomore attendant and Jake was a king candidate. Then came the big announcement. The 2009 Music Carnival King and Queen is JACOB RAYMOND and Sarah Brennan!! How exciting!!! Of course I had to go take pictures along with the other parents and Jake was not liking the photo shoot thing but I managed to get some good pictures!IMG_0980

Another project

Today turned out to be a really pretty day! I actually got hot! When I got home from work Mom and I went for a walk. I brought Reese along and walked him around the park once then I took him home and walked some more. When I got home I made some more button flowers and then decided to make some flowers out of my writing pens and put them together in a mug. Just thought it would make them look a little nicer. So that is what you are looking at. Another quick and easy project! Something to keep you busy!

I had to run up to Council Bluffs today after work, got home about 5:00 and then had a library board meeting at 6:00 so I was ready to come home and call it a night. I have things that I wanted to get done around the house and I have a bunch of laundry to do but I guess I will have to get to that tomorrow.
